The Walmart brand is a rather controversial topic. Many
small business owners all over the world worry that Walmart will enter their
town. The extreme low prices that Walmart can offer are frustrating for their
competitors. This trend has been the end of thousands of mom and pop stores
world wide. Big brand stores have the ability to sell merchandise at prices
smaller stores simply can’t receive. The quantities required to obtain large
discounts are massive and expensive. Some small business advocates claim
the methods that Walmart sets its prices are unfair to manufacturers and
distributors. However, nothing seems to phase the company. Whether it is child
labor lawsuits, discrimination or simply moving operations to China, no matter
how incorrigible the behavior, we as Americans still purchase their products.
