Then they went on and on about how NOT to give gifts. Basically, it looked like a chance to air the dirty laundry. She went on and on about re-gifting and giving junk. It seemed like a pretty bold statement on what she expects gifts from others to be like.
Shopping for generic gifts can be a challenge, no doubt about it. So, just do your best. Usually there are a least a few facts that you will know about the person. If you can find an acceptable idea go for it. Some items seem like they are almost a blank slate. Generally it seems like most people would enjoy gift cards. When in doubt I always ask if they have an iPod, because anyone with an Pod can always use an iTunes card.
Something unique is fun, too!!! If you have time you may be able to get something personalized. It is amazing how fast a company can get a personalized gift done. There are web sites that have a myriad of ideas that should work for just about anybody. Check some of these out and you can really impress someone!! A personalized gift is fun for the giver and the receiver!
