As the world shrinks at an alarming rate and more and more people are on the move, we find ourselves meeting and greeting people one day and bidding adieu the next, more frequently. People seem to be in transit most of the time, either for business or pleasure. But they still find time to celebrate special occasions.
Now many of these special occasions require giving gifts. And when we're invited to these occasions we find ourselves in a quandary - what gift can we give to someone who lives out of a suitcase most of the time? First of all, frequent travelers have access to so many items from all over the world. What more can they possibly want or need?
The other aspect of choosing a gift for a regular traveler involves the utility factor - what's the point in giving something that they cannot carry or use? To give a gift that is going to be consigned to a carton in a loft somewhere seems to be an exercise in futility.
In other words, when we have to choose a gift for someone who's always on the move, we need to find something that is convenient and easy to carry. And the only gift item that seems to fit the bill is gift cards.
